A beginners workshop for Women "INTRO" to Hand/Stick Drum for Women - No experience necessary - Every other month - Saturday (3rd)

Anyone can do it! Drumming is accessible. You will be playing a piece within 60 minutes. Both technique on how to produce the basic sounds, and rhythms using those sounds, will be taught. Find the drum style that speaks to you - Drums e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums will be included. Also in this session we will play a musical piece and experience what it is like to be in a drum ensemble.

Saturday (3rd) 3:00-5:00 pm (One time workshop - every other month)

A class for WOMEN - for beginners - Drum Basics - No experience necessary

Start Groovin in this class that offers technique training for a variety of drum styles that use both hands and sticks (e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums). Technique practice and playing musical pieces are used to teach you about the art of drumming. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American rhythms will be included. In each class you will have a chance to lose yourself in the beautiful rhythms and music while you play.

Daytime - Wednesday 9:30-10:30 am (weekly)

Evening - Thursday 5:30-6:30 pm (weekly)

In this class technique training will be shown for a variety of hand drums (e.g djembes, conga’s, and kpanlogos). Technique practice and playing musical pieces are used to teach you about the art of drumming. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American rhythms will be included. In each class you will have a chance to lose yourself in the beautiful rhythms and music while you play. Many variations of how the drums are played will be taught.

Wednesday (1st & 3rd) 6:30-8:00 pm (bi-weekly)

A class for WOMEN - Groov’inHeart - Some drum experience

This class offers technique training for a variety of drum styles that use both hands and sticks (e.g djembes, conga’s, snares, toms, and bass drums). Technique practice and playing musical pieces are used to teach you about the art of drumming. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American rhythms will be included. In addition, the art of performing will be emphasized.

Daytime - Wednesday 11:00-12:30 pm ongoing (weekly)

Evening - Wednesday 4:45-6:15 pm ongoing (weekly)

An experience for WOMEN - HealthRHYTHMS for relaxation and healing - Sunday (3rd)

Come and explore how the sounds of drums and other percussion instruments will help you release any stress from life and leave you in a peaceful state of being. The drumming will be free style to allow for self expression and to allow for the group to blend naturally. Each session will end with a sound mediation.

Sunday (3rd) 1:30-2:30 pm (once a month)

Community drumming - CO-ED - Couples Drum Class (any couple will do) No experience necessary - Sunday (1st & 3rd)

A fun and healthy hobby to do together. If you both enjoy music then it is time to actually play together! Learn basic technique for drums from around the world and experience the energy of the rhythms through your own hands. Playing music increases the benefits to your health and wellbeing e.g. improving your immune system and more. African, Brazilian, Caribbean and American Rhythms will be taught and used within a musical drum piece.

Sunday (1st and 3rd) 3:30-5:00 pm (bi-weekly)

Community drumming - CO-ED - DrumAsOne-Drum Circle - Family friendly - No experience necessary - Every other month - Saturday (3rd)

A community drum circle that focuses on creating one voice out of many. It emphasizes being “In the moment”. During the drum circle we will have time to both see where the music goes by creating a collective rhythm and experience holding a rhythm that combines with other rhythms to make a drumSong.
